OBITUARY

Glendon L. JOHNSON

Glendon L. Johnson, son George and Louetta Parks Johnson, was born August 26, 1896 an died November 1, 1950, being at the time of his death 54 years of age.

He was born in Franklin Twp., but lived most of his life in Hamilton Twp., Jackson County.

On February 1, 1922 he was united in marriage to Lucy Gilliland and to this union three children suffer the loss of a loving father.

Early in life he accepted Christ as his Savior and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist church.

Glen, as he was usually called, spread sunshine wherever he went and greeted his many friends with a smile even after his health failed him, never complaining of his lot. But it was about his own home, however, where his interest and love was especially displayed, always as happy to have his loved ones around him.

The leaves to mourn their loss the following: his loving wife Lucy; two sons, Ray and Heber Johnson of Dayton, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Preston of Lucasville,O.; two brothers, Alma Stiffler of Hamilton Twp., Bernard Brunton of Dayton,0.; and three grandchildren, Bobbie Preston, Linda Sue Johnson and Judy Ann Johnson, besides a host and of relatives and friends.

There is no death; the stars go down

Torise upon some fairer shore,

And bright in Heaven’s jeweled

crown

They shine forever more.

And ever near us, though unseen,

The dear immortal spirits tread;

For all the boundless universe

Is life—there are no dead.
