Mrs. Cecil Maharry passed away Friday after a long illness. Funeral services were Sunday Nov. 7, at the Clearfield Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Howard Ball. Interment was in Lenox cemetery.

Mary Pearle, daughter of Ann Jane and James S. Hewitt was born near Lenox in Adams County, Iowa June 26, 1892. She passed away at Rosary Hospital, Corning, Ia. Nov. 5, 1954 at the age of 62 years, 4 months and 9 days. She grew to womanhood in this community and was a member of Prairie Star Presbyterian Church near Kent.

On March 28, 1917, she was united in marriage to Cecil M. Maharry and moved to Taylor Count near Clearfield which was her home for the rest of her life. Her church affiliation was transferred to Calvary Methodist and later to Clearfield Methodist Church. She was the mother of three sons.

Preceding her in death were her father and mother, and 3 half sisters, Emma Oshel, Lillie Madison and Addie Nisely.

Surviving are her husband, Cecil Maharry, her three sons, Gerald of Clearfield, Leland of Lenox and James of Los Angeles, and three daughters-in-law, Hazel, Lucille and Rita of whom she was very fond, two half brothers, John Thompson and Charley Hewitt, both of Lenox, one half sister, Lizzie Stewart of Humansville, Mo., 9 grandchildren and many relatives and friends.

She enjoyed her church and social activities as long as her health permitted.
