Lennard W. Buchholz, 91, Alexandria, died Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at the Knute Nelson Memorial Home, Alexandria.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 18 from the Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria, with Rev. Gunard Heikkila officiating.

Interment was in the Holland Cemetery, Holland on Monday, April 19 with Rev. Jeff Lee officiating.

Lennard Walter Buchholz was born in Minneapolis on May 20, 1912. He was adopted by Henry and Hattie (Raschke) Buchholz and was baptized at St. James Lutheran Church, Holland on Sept. 22, 1912. He attended country school at District #4 in Holland, was confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church on March 28, 1926, and began working at an early age.

He moved to Wadena with his parents in 1951. In 1958 he moved to Watertown, Wisc. to live at the Bethesda Lutheran Home. The home operated a farm and he enjoyed this type of work. Lennard moved to the Knute Nelson Memorial Home in Alexandria in 1977.

He is survived by his brother-in-law Richard Riemer, Wadena and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Esther Riemer and a brother, Ervin Buchholz.
