W.C. Wilkinson married Miss Lucy Mary Woods in 1874 in Johnson County, Texas.

The couple moved to Young County in 1879 from Navarro County, Texas. The family settled in the Lower Boggy Valley area. The family traveled in a covered wagon, driving cattle and horses from one water hole to the next, the trip took one year.

In 1883, the family built a school on their property opening with 11 students. Miss Rebecca Kisinger was the first teacher.

Hill's Company, 3rd Arkansas Infantry Battalion Pvt/Pvt. Age at enlistment: 18. Mustered into service 15 Jul 1861 at Fayetteville. Unit disbanded 19 Sep 1861. Company G, Williamson's Arkansas Infantry Battalion Sgt/Pvt. Enlisted 28 Feb 1862 at Dardanelle, Yell, Arkansas as 3rd Sergeant. Age at enlistment: 19. Reduced to ranks and transferred to Company H, 1st Arkansas Mounted Rifles 1 May 1862.
