LaRue K. Dana, 88, passed away Friday, March 21, 2003, at her home in Fort Benton of natural causes.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2003, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Fort Benton. Interment will be in Big Sandy.
LaRue was born Sept. 1, 1914, in Bruneau, Idaho to Hyram and Drucilla Kidd. She met Leland F. Dana in Declo, Idaho and they were married in Ogden, Utah on Aug. 5, 1933. Six children were born to this union. The couple moved to Montana in 1950 where Leland was involved with trucking, which took them all over the state, finally retiring in Loma.
LaRue had many hobbies, including gardening and crafts, and she loved doing things with her grandchildren. She was well known around the area as the raspberry lady.
Survivors include her children, Lou Dean (Wayne) Jolly of Fort Benton; Freda (Ron) Young of Bountiful, Utah; Marva (Richard) Cook of Big Sandy; Lane (Becky) Dana of Two Dot, Mont.; Guy (Debi) Dana of Salem, Ore.; Calvin Dana of Fort Benton; sister, Viola (Glen) Saxton; brother, John (Mary) Kidd.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hyrum and Pearl Kidd; her loving husband of 56 years, Leland F. Dana; brothers, Carson Kidd, Melvin Kidd, Harlan Kidd, James Kidd, Alec Kidd, and three granddaughters, Rebecca, Cindy and Gemma.
