Peter was born on May 6, 1890, in Bartzeli, Olympia, Greece. He emigrated to the United States aboard the ss Eugenia arriving in New York City and went to Chicago. In 1916 he married Glykeria Vafakos in St Mary's Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago Heights, IL. ( In Greek it is called Panagias ). They had four children: Konstantine ( Gus ) born in 1917; Electra ( Lecky or Lucky ) born 1918, Meryanthy ( Marie ) born 1919; and Helen born 1920. In 2013, only Helen is still alive. She will be 93 May of this year. She lives in Dunwoody, GA with her daughter, JeanieMarie.

Peter was a Game Warden in Illinois and later a very successful Insurance Broker for Home Insurance out of Harvey, Illinois and a Real Estate Broker in Harvey and the South Suburban area. He also owned a cottage in Stevensville, MI and later in Long Beach, Indiana.

Peter and his wife lost their son, Gus, to rheumatic fever in 1930. Glykeria died in 1964 and Peter remarried a woman named Stella Bouramas in Chicago. No issue.

Peter was also a strong force in Democratic politics in Cook County and through his nephew, Angelo Geocaris, whom he put through college, a power with Senator Paul Douglas and Robert Kennedy.
