RANDALL MATTINGLY, WW II VETERAN, DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS - A Bloomfield resident, James Randall Mattingly, 57, died at 7:10 P.M. Friday, October 16, at Louisville Veterans Hospital after a long illness. He lived in the Creekview Apartments. He was a former employee of the Jodie C. Brown Company, Bloomfield, a member of Little Union Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II. A son, Randy Mattingly, Jr., Bloomfield, and a brother, Theodore Mattingly, Route 1, Cox's Creek, survive. The body was at the Houghlin Funeral Home, Taylorsville Road, Bloomfield, where services were held at 10:30 Tuesday morning, October 20, with the Rev. Earl Pike, pastor of the Bloomfield Baptist Church, officiating. Interment was in Little Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were William Nichols, Joe Mason Brown, Dotson Gordon, Dick Hunt, Clyde Trent and Jesse Hardin. Buried, 10-20-1981, in Little Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Spencer Co., Ky., 8 miles south of Taylorsville on Hwy # 652. (Published in The Kentucky Standard, Tuesday, October 20, 1981)
