Mrs. V.K. Orr, Sr., who has lived most of her life in the Vinson-Wellington area, died in Harmon Memorial Hospital, Hollis, at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 14, after a short illness. She and Mr. Orr made their home a short distance east of the Texas-Oklahoma State Line, in Harmon County. They had lived here for many years. The former Alice Lee (Dollie) Castleman, Mrs. Orr was born at Breckenridge June 10, 1906, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank C. Castleman. The family came to this area when she was only five weeks old. She attended the OM School. On December 24, 1924, she was married to V.K. Orr in Wellington. He also had come to Harmon County as a child. Their first home was in the OM community, but most of their married life was at Vinson. However, they also have lived at Borger, El Reno, Oklahoma and Wellington. She was a member of the Church of Christ, and through the years took part in many affairs in her community. Survirors include her husband, V.K. Orr, Sr.; three sons, V.K. Orr, Jr., of Wellington, Vista Lee Orr of Tulia; and Franklin Orr of Reno, Nevada; two brothers, F.D. Castleman and L.J. Castleman of Hollis; six sisters, Mrs. Walter Randall, Mrs. Andrew Powers and Mrs. J.W. Shadix of Hollis; Mrs. Opal Reeves of Borger, Mrs. Carrie Alexander of Burnet and Mrs. Ernest Stewart of San Leandro, Calif. There are 7 grandchildren.
