Native of North Carolina and member of Friendship Baptist Church. Died at noon on Oct. 27, 1936 at a Spartanburg hospital following an illness of six weeks and a long period of declining health. Survivors included: his wife, Mrs. Margaret Sheehan Waldrop, his father, Rufus Waldrop, three daughters, Miss Sara Waldrop, Mrs. J. D. Greer and Mrs. J. M. Parkhill, a son. R. E. Waldrop, three brothers, Lynn, John and Rufus Waldrop, Jr., three sisters, Mrs. Will Hague, Mrs. Elizabeth Byars and Mollie Culbreth and four grandchildren. He was 59 years of age at his demise.
