Son of Augustus A. and Laura V. (Beck) Allen. Carl attended school and graduated from Wymore High School and furthered his education in Omaha before entering the Navy during World War II. Carl and Jolene Gish were united in marriage on December 2, 1956 at the Wymore Methodist Church, Wymore, NE He was employed by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in York, York American Legion Bolton Post #19, and Veterans Association of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. In recent years he was made an Honorary Marine in Company C-1-28 5th Division, Iwo Jima Marines. Carl loved trains, traveling, gardening, flowers and visiting family and friends. He also enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Survivors include his wife Jolene of York; brother Leland Allen of Omaha, NE; brothers-in-law, James Gish of Lincoln, NE and Larry (Beverly) Gish of Dorchester, NE; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, brother Ronald, sisters-in-law, Donna Allen, LaVeta Miller, and Marcy Gish, and brother-in-law Harry L. Miller.
