Groves had lived in Olney all his life. He and Willie Belle Strealy were married October 6, 1926 in Olney. He was a farmer and a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Anita Cole of Atlanta, Ga., and Linda Roberts of Archer City; one son, Leon C. Groves of Archer City; one sister, Mrs. Beuford Williams of Arlington; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
