ROBERT W. MARSCHALK

ALBERT LEA, Minn.—Funeral services for Robert W. Marschalk, 54, of Farson, formerly of Alden, Minn., were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 6, at the Alden United Methodist Church with the Rev. Benson DenHartog officiating.

Burial was at Alden Cemetery with military honors by the Alden American Legion.

Robert William Marschalk died July 3, 1989, at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn., of complication resulting from a lung infection. Marschalk was born July 7, 1934 in Pierre, N.D., the son of Paul and Yvonne (Derby) Marschalk. He graduated from Faribault High School in Minnesota.

Marschalk worked in the oil fields near Newcastle, and later served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1959. He worked for Ebert Plumbing and heating in Alden and as a steam fitter in Wyoming.

Marschalk was united in marriage to Kay Yost in 1963. They have a daughter, Kathryn, a senior at the University of Wyoming; a son, Alex, a senior at Farson-Eden High School; and a daughter, Ann, who died at birth.

His home has been in Farson for the past 16 years where his hobbies were hunting and fishing in the area.

Survivors include his wife, his parents, his children, a brother, Paul, of San Diego, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ann Elizabeth.
