M.R. "Hub" Hubbard

Lifelong Auburn resident M.R. "Hub" Hubbard died at Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital on Nov. 2, 1996, following a lenghty illness. He was 73.

Born in Auburn on April 3, 1923, Mr. Hubbard served in the U.S. Navy as a radar/sonar operator during World War II aboard submarines USS Tabor, USS Piranha and USS Silversides. Prior to his retirement, he owned Hub's TV Service in Auburn.

Mr. Hubbard is survived by his sons. Calvin of Folsom, Wayne of Coloma and Danny of Nevada City; daughter, Loreen Brewton of Applegate; two grandchildren; and brother O.C. Taylor of Auburn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine, and his brother, Homer.

Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 7, at 1 p.m. at Chapel of the Hills in Auburn, Graveside services will follow.
