CELIA EUGENIA RUCKER ANDERSON, died from "Childbirth Fever,"(Post Partum Infection), Eight Weeks after having given birth to Marguerite Alberta Anderson. Her husband Albert Thomas ANDERSON sold the family farm after her death. He placed Marguerite with his Sister, Maude ANDERSON RHODES and her Husband, Henry RHODES, and bought property near the RHODES Ranch. When her Mother died, her Aunt Maude and her Daughter, Lilly Pearl RHODES, came to get Baby Marguerite in a horse and buggy. There were Four Older ANDERSON Daughters; Florence, Ada, Allie, and Henrietta (Sis). They continued to live with their Father. Marguerite's Father called her
"Babe." She called him "Daddy Ab." She grew to adulthood on the Rhodes' 'Nopalitas Ranch'.
Her biological father allowed her to grow up as Marguerite Alberta RHODES, only asking her to use her ANDERSON name on her Marriage Certificate. He bought a pony for her when she was small and taught her to ride. He visited her most every day as she grew to adulthood.In June 1990, Mother, (Marguerite), was diaganosed with Renal Carcinoma. In September 1990, my Sister, Joyce, was with our mother in her Euless, Texas, Hospital Room, where Mother lay dying. Marguerite (Mother), asked Joyce to move herr chair away from the doorway, because she could not clearly see the two women standing there. Joyce moved her chair. Marguerite said, "One of the women is Moma," (Maude Anderson Rhodes, who reared her,) Marguerite added, "I don't know who that young woman is with Moma, she looks like Ada (Mother's Sister)."
