Mr. Fisk was 76 years old and was for more than 27 years a citizen of Decatur. He was born March 11, 1840 in Covington, Ky., passing his early life there and in Indiana. Shortly after the outbreak of the civil war, he volunteered and served in Companies A and E Seventh Indiana Infantry, until mustered out at the close of the conflict. He was a member of Dunham Post G.A.R.
He came to Decatur in August 1889 and established a furniture store in the old Powers block, where he continued business until his store was destroyed in the first Powers fire. He later engaged in the loan business, but retired four years ago. His health was poor for several years and three years ago, he suffered a severe attack of blood poisoning which resulted in the loss of his right hand. He suffered intensely during his final illness.
Mr. Fisk leaves besides his widow, two daughters and three sons, Mrs. W.A. Warnes, Mrs. C.A. Pinkney and Harry Fisk, Jr., all of Decatur, George and Frank Fisk of New Orleans, La. One brother, Marion Fisk of Mt. Zion also is living.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been arranged awaiting word from the sons in New Orleans.
