Galen G. Burkholder, 51, of Ewing died Saturday morning, Feb. 20, 2010, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Benton with the Rev. Bryant Harris officiating. Burial will follow at the Ewing Mennonite Church Cemetery with Brother Eugene Burkholder and Brother Harlan Martin officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home, 410 S. Main St., Benton.

It was Mr. Burkholder's request that there be no flowers.

He was born in Ephrata, Pa., on July 8, 1958, the son of Adam and Elsie (Gingrich) Burkholder.

Mr. Burkholder is survived by his two sons, Erik Burkholder and wife, Rhoda, of Ewing, and Tyler Burkholder and wife, Carolyn, of Belle Rive; one daughter, Kristel Burkholder of Morgantown, Pa.; two grandsons, Travis and Darrick; five brothers, Leon G. Burkholder and wife, Verna, of Ephrata, Pa., Paul G. Burkholder and wife, Arlene, of Ephrata, Pa., Adam G. Burkholder of Sheafferstown, Pa., Luke G. Burkholder and wife, Eva Jane, of East Earl, Pa., and James G. Burkholder and wife, Fannie, of Narvon, Pa.; two sisters, Nora G. Hoover and husband, Roy, of Leola, Pa., and Anna G. Hoover and husband, Ervin, of Ephrata, Pa.; foster sister, Sally A. Zimmerman and husband, Kenneth, of New Holland, Pa.; and sister-in-law, Nancy Burkholder of Ladoga, Ind.

Mr. Burkholder was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Earl G. Burkholder.
