William H. "Henry" Shannon, 93, of Olney, died at 6:29 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2006 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Stasi-Grove Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be in Haven Hill Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Larry Weber conducting the service. The Richland County veterans Organization will perform full military honors at the graveside.
Mr. Shannon was born on December 31, 1912, in Mt. Erie, the son of Ralph Roy and Mabel (Blood) Shannon.
He married Ruth Myers on August 17, 1946 in Parkersburg. She preceded him in death.
He is survived by one son, Dale Shannon and his wife, Deborah of St. Peters, Mo.; one daughter, Brenda Barton and her husband, Paul of Swansea; one sister, Lorraine Kinkade of Olney; one grandchild. Dan Shannon and his wife, Melissa; and two great-grandchildren, Kayla and Jessica Shannon.
Mr. Shannon was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth; and one brother, Harry Ellis Shannon.
Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 30 in Olney.
