Frances Ellen Wilford Wiley passed away at her home in Agricola, Friday evening, September 18, 1931 at 11:30 o'clock at the age of 75 years, 10 months and 3 days.
She was born in Wayne County, Ohio on November 15, 1855 and while a young girl united with the Methodist Church and moved with her parents to Iowa, where they resided until she was married to James Wiley on January 1,1874 later moving to Kansas where she has resided ever since. To this union three sons and three daughters were born, the husband and two sons, Spencer and Charley, have passed on. She was a kind and loving mother and was loved by all who knew her.
She leaves to mourn her going the following: Violet, at home; Florence Eckenroed, of Pomona; Clara Reed, of Ottawa; and Clayton Wiley of Stillman Valley, Illinois; six grandchildren, and a host of friends who mourn her departure from us.
Services were held from the Methodist Church at Waverly. The Rev. R. J. Zeidler preached the sermon and the remains were laid to rest in the Waverly Cemetery beside her husband.
