St. David, IL – Shirley J. Seward, 75, died at 4:50 p.m. Saturday February 20, 2010 at the Heartland Health Care in Canton.
She was born March 29, 1934, in Canton to Nelson and Dorothy (Douglas) DeGroot.
She married Edgar M. Seward, April 10, 1964. in Lewistown. He preceded her in death on March 15, 2005.
Survivors include three sons Ronald J. Smith of Norris, Kelly Smith and Timothy Seward of Canton, two daughters Jeaneen Hardy of Hanna City, and Roberta Clausen of Florida. Three step sons Terry and Edgar Seward of Canton and Fred Seward of Canton. Two brothers William DeGroot of Beardstown and Kenneth DeGroot of Canton. One sister Mary Ann Davis of Tempe, AZ. Nineteen grandchildren and twenty great grand children.
Oaks-Hines Funeral home in Canton is in charge of arrangements.
Cremation rites have been accorded and burial ot the ashes will be held at the White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton on Saturday, February 27, 2010, at 11:00 AM.
Memorials may be made to Harbor Lights Hospice.
