At his home in Garden Valley after a lingering illness, Abraham Beard, age 71 yrs. 6 mo. 27 days. Deceased was born at Akron, Ohio. He was a pioneer of California and also of this state. Mr. Beard has been a resident of Garden Valley continously since 1867. His wife survives him. Deceased was one of the best citizens of the county and an honest hardworking farmer. The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in the upper Garden Valley cemetery on the Schilling property.
