HURST Christopher J. Hurst, age 50, went home to be with the Lord, September 20, 2008 following a lengthy illness. Chris was born in Jacksonville, Florida on November 20, 1957 to James N. and Lettie J. Hurst. He was an active member of Chets Creek Church. He was a graduate of the University of North Florida, where he earned his accounting degree. He practiced as a CPA in Jacksonville for two years, prior to returning to school and earning his law degree at the University of Florida. He has practiced law in Jacksonville for over twenty years, specializing in Real Estate. Chris was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying, as well as spending time outdoors with his family and friends. Chris is survived by his wife of 15 years, Bonnie K. Hurst, two daughters, Meghan K. Dunn (Jack) and Erin L. Morris, a son, Christopher Joseph "C.J." Hurst, Jr., his mother Lettie Hurst, mother-in-law Betty Kelley, sister, Suzanne H. Langenberg (Keith), sisters- in-law, Kathy H. Sturgill (Nelson) and Lynn Kelley, brothers-in-law, David Kelley and Johnny Kelley, nephews, Eric Hurst (Cassie), Philip Hurst, Mark Sturgill, Branden Langenberg, Bradley Langenberg, and John Wesley Kelley, nieces, Stephanie Christina Langenberg and Bonnie Marie Brogle (John), Aunt Jeanette Thurmond, Uncle Jerry McDonald (Maxine), Aunt Neely Cotton (Ronell), and Uncle Marion McGee (Barbara), as well as numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James N. Hurst, and his brother, Stephen R. Hurst. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the missions fund of Chets Creek Church or Northeast Florida Community Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32257. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at Chets Creek Church, 4420 Hodges Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32224, Pastor Spike Hogan officiating, following a private interment.
