Services for Lyndol M. Cummings, 97, of Flint, will be held on Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Tom Wagner officiating.

Burial will follow in Flint Cemetery in Flint under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Cummings passed away Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.

He was born Aug. 24, 1912, in Flint to Lidge and Pearl Oglesby Cummings.

Mr. Cummings was a member of Flint United Methodist Church and was the music director, the Sunday superintendent and a steward at the church. Lyndol loved all music, especially gospel. He served on the cemetery committee and sang at the annual Flint Cemetery meeting. He loved his work, but he most deeply loved his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Cummings was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Anna; his parents; two brothers; one sister; one son-in-law, Donald Wagner; and one great-grandson, Andy Lawrence.

Lyndol is survived by his loving family including daughter, Dolores Wagner of Flint; son, James P. Cummings and wife Ann of Flint; five grandchildren, Paula Henderson, Jean Lawrence, Donna Templeton, Tom Wagner and Dianna Young; great-grandchildren, James Lawrence, Laura Lawrence, Aaron Templeton, Jodye Crowell, Sarah Wagner, Rebecca Wagner, David M. Wagner, Dana Young and Daniel Young; and great-great-grandson, Jansen Crowell.

Pallbearers will be Marty Lawrence, James Lawrence, Bill Henderson, Allan Templeton, Aaron Templeton, David Young, Daniel Young and J.P. Emerine.
