HANOVER-- James B. Buffington, 68, of 1150 William St., Hanover, died at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday at Homewood at Plum Creek. He was the husband of Shirley (Fulco) Buffington, to whom he was married for 46 years.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Church of Christ, 116 York St., Hanover. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Paul's (Dubs) Church Cemetery. The Kenworthy Funeral Home Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Buffington was born March 28, 1928, in Hanover. He was the son of the late George V. and Mary (Craumer) Buffington.

He owned and operated Buffington's Meat Market in Hanover, retiring in 1985 after 29 years of service. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ.

Mr. Buffington also is survived by three brothers, Jacob Buffington and Joseph Buffington, both of Hanover, and George Buffington of Collingswood, N.J.; five sisters, Dorothy Kehr and Linda Eltz, both of Hanover, Thelma Senft of York, Nancy Smith of New Oxford and Patsy Seymore of Dallastown; and nieces and nephews.

Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Julian E. Hall.
