Gerald Elmer Renner, 63, of 8406 Mapleville Road, Boonsboro, Md., died on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.

Born March 27, 1946, in Mount Lena, Md., he was the son of the late Paul Elmer and Goldie Agnes Hutzell Renner.

He graduated in 1964 from Boonsboro High School.

He retired from Roy C. Kline in Smithsburg, Md.

He was a member of the Palomino Horse Breeders Association and the Quarter Horse Association.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Shafer Renner; one daughter, Lucinda Renner, and fiance, Paul Eichelberger, of Boonsboro; one son, Gerald W. Renner of Boonsboro; three sisters, Mary Jane Hutzell of Keedysville, Md., Shirley Clopper of Hagerstown and Genvevie Lapole of Middletown, Md.; and one granddaughter, Paula Ann Eichelberger of Boonsboro.

He was preceded in death by a half sister, Lavenia Brown.

Funeral services will be held at Mount Zion Mennonite Church, 20544 Benevola Church Road, Boonsboro, on Monday at 11 a.m. Pastor Craig Oury will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.

Family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m., and one hour before the service at the church.
