Born in Stephens County, he was a son of the late Jim and Laura Hendricks Thomason. He was a retired employee of Carwood Manufacturing Company and a member of Lamar Christian Church.
Survivors include widow, Grace Poole Thomason of the home; one daughter, Mrs. E. P. (Martha) Blackburn of Jackson; two sons, Bradley Thomason of Jackson and James Thomason of Alto; three sisters, Mrs. Monteen Smith, Mrs. Bertha Smith and Mrs. Lessie Kesler, all of Toccoa, Stephens County, Georgia; one stepsister, Mrs. Viola Andrews of Baldwin; three brothers, Cleo Thomason, Dorsey Ward and Chandler Ward, all of Cornelia; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and newphes
The funeral was Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Lamar Christian Church, with the Rev. Darrell Goodwin and the Rev. Clyde Garrison officiating. Burial was in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
