"Services Held For Kathryn Wade"

Memorial services were conducted Monday at 11 am by the Bollman Funeral Home at the Wallowa Methodist church for Mrs. Kathryn H. Wade who passed away in a La Grande hospital on Thursday, Feb. 12, 1970. Rev. Gertrude Sorlien and Rev. James E. Jones officiated. Mrs. Geneva Johnson was organist and Mrs. Nyoda Scott sang " In The Sweet Bye and Bye" and "How Great Thou Art".
Casket bearers were: John Burritt, Wm. G. Dunn, Wayne Wolfe, Ed Hook, Clifford Johnson and Jay Templeton. Nonorary pallbearers were: Bud Lewis, R.V. Chrisman, Lorin Ricker, Ben Weathers, Reid Johnson, Howard Johnson, Cecil Chrisman, Stanley Shell, F.H. Weinhard, Melvin Gekler and Lawton McDaniel. Graveside services were at 2:30 p.m. in the North Powder cemetery.
Mrs. Wade was born May 1, 1899 in North Powder, daughter of Edward and Francelia Ashby. On March 29, 1920 she was married at Weiser, Idaho to G. Barton Wade who survives her. She was a registered nurse, and was a member of the Wallowa Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiary 72, the Lady Elks, and Wallowa County Cow Belles.
Besides her husband at the Wallowa home she leaves four sisters. Mrs. Cleve (Bessie) Miller, New Plymouth, Ida., and Mrs. Jessie Burdett, Mrs. Earl (Jennie) O'Bryant, and Mrs. Dollie Pearson, all of North Powder; and nieces and nephews.
