Lloyd D. Ness was born on a farm south of Worthing, SD on Dec. 31, 1918, the son of Carl and Rose Ness. He attended rural school and grew to manhood there.

On Mar. 23, 1940 he was united in marriage to Violet Reynolds at Lennox.

Following their marriage they farmed in the Worthing area and for the past ten years they farmed near Lennox.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Clifford Ness, on Nov. 5, 1956, as well as five brothers and three sisters.

Lloyd died suddenly, shortly after arrival at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, on Apr. 16, 1983. He attained the age of 64 years, three months and 15 days.

Survivors include his widow, Violet; one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Judy) Jibben of Chancellor; two grandsons, Shane and Lance; one granddaughter, Lacey; four brothers: Vernon Ness of Worthing, Omar Ness of Stickney, Arnold Ness in California, and Marlo Ness of Litchfield, MN; two sisters: Mrs William (Ardis) Lamis of Lake Havasu City, AZ and Mrs. Verlyn (Mary) Hofer of Lennox.
