He worked in the special service department for the Illinois Central Railroad Co. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Illinois Police Association. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
He married Deletta Belton in Decatur in June, 1946.
Surviving are his wife; father, Roy Perry of Decatur; sons, Darrell of Freeport and Michael at home; daughter, Sharon, at home; brother, Roy Eugene of Decatur; sisters, Mrs. James (Evelyn) Jones, Mrs. Ethelene Phillips and Mrs. Eva Baum, all of Decatur, and Mrs. James (Edna) Dickmeier of Mount Zion and two grandchildren.
One sister preceded him in death.
