In the 1910 census the Gauthier family lived in the Winchendon Springs section of town. Albert's widowed mother, Clarice, was head of household. She told the census taker eleven of her twelve children were still alive. Six of them were still living with her. They were: Mary, 24, Annie, 23, Albert, 22, John, 19, Clara, 17, and Joseph, 8. All three daughters worked at cotton mills or possibly the same mill. Albert was a common laborer and John earned his pay at a toy factory.
