Anders was a railroad section hand for Union Pacific and slipped on ice while attempting to board a moving engine at the yard. The engine crushed his left leg from ankle to thigh resulting in Anders' passing three hours later at the hospital in Laramie.
Anders is survived by his brother "Gus," his ex-wife Eljana (LARSDOTTER) (ROSENLUND) BERNDT, and his daughters Anna Augusta Amelia (ROSENLUND)(LILJA) STROM, Johanna Karolina Henrietta ROSENLUND.
