John D. Starkey, 80, retired carpenter, died of a heart attack at his home Monday. He had been in failing health for three years.

Funeral was held in the Olney Assembly of God church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. C.R. Love. Burial in Seymour, his former home, under charge of Lunn Funeral Home.

Starkey spent most of his life in Seymour and in Olney, moving here about 15 years ago. On 10 January 1933, he married Mrs. Dora Minor of Olney. His first wife had died in Seymour.

Surviving: his widow; 3 children - Elbert Starkey and Mrs. Mamie Florine Turner of Seymour, Mrs. Durwood Belmont Hayden of Mason; one step-daughter - Mrs. Ethel Smith of Olney; one sister - Mrs. Rosie Schubert of Perry, OK; 10 grandchildren; three great- grandchildren and several nephews who live at Seymour.
