Louis "Louie" Larson, 86, of Bagley, died Sunday, December 14, 1997, at the Greensview Health Care Center in Bagley.
He was born July 15, 1911, at Eddy Township, Clearwater County, the son of Gunder and Marie (Olson) Larson. He grew up in Eddy Township and worked on the family farm as well as other farms around the area. He also did some logging. He served in the United States Army during World War II from August 5, 1942 to August 25, 1943. He lived and worked in the Clearwater County area most of his life. In 1994 he entered the Greensview Health Care Center where he had resided since. He was a member of the Irvin Blix American Legion Post #16 of Bagley, Minnesota for 57 years. He loved to garden and always kept a neat lawn.
Survivors include his sister, Mabel Myhre of Proctor, Minnesota; special niece that care for him, Joyce Myhre of Duluth; stepchildren, Jane Olson of Bagley, Joy Shelquist and Rosella Nelson, both of Clearbrook, Sandra Netland of Shevlin, and Mary Swinburne of Bagley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four wifes, Mabel Erickson, Clara Bartz, Ragna Oien and Agnes Norin; one sister, Hilma Groven; and two nephews, Vernon and Howard.
Funeral services are Thursday, December 18, at 1 p.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley with Rev. Mardy Schermerhorn officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Bagley City Cemetery with arrangements by the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley.
