Funeral services for Mrs. Ollie Stroud Colvin, 90, of Calhoun, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 18, 2010 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe with Rev. Neil Everett officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Garden Cemetery in Calhoun, LA.

Mrs. Colvin passed away on Sunday February 14, 2010 after a short illness. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Calhoun. After retiring from Sears in 1960, she became a homemaker, devoting herself to her family and church community.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, J. P. Colvin; her parents, Samuel and Mary Sue McCarther Stroud; three brothers, Henry Stroud, Dolphus Stroud, and her twin brother, Audie Stroud; three sisters, Rose Fortner, Leona Bennett, and Irene Romine; grandson, Michael Durham and two great grandchildren, Shannon LeVasseur and Morgan Lewis.

Ollie always had a smile and her sparkling eyes could chase away every hurt and tear. She loved her Lord and could be found throughout the day thumbing through the Bible she kept beside her rocking chair.

She was dearly loved and will be truly missed by her three daughters, Barbara Chelette and husband, Earl, Ann Spatafora and husband, Don, and Pat Durham; grandchildren, Kirk Gallien and wife, Terri, Greg Gallien and wife, Robin, Gary Gallien and wife, Michelle, Joni Spatafora Phillips and husband, Dale, Jeannie Spatafora Givens, Tommie Spatafora Livingston and husband, Daryl, Sandy Spatafora Orange and husband, Herman, Carole Spatafora Pitarro and husband, Sal, Tim Durham and wife, Beverly, and Pam Durham Stuart and husband, Calvin; 24 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren and a large number of special nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Kirk, Greg, and Gary Gallien, Tim Durham; great grandsons, Brandon Chauvin and Matt Durham.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
