Mrs. Ida Arnold Mercer, 88, died this morning in Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
She was a member of Hargraves Chapel and a lifelong resident of Ware County. She was the daughter of the late Rowe Arnold and Beady Harrell Arnold and the widow of M.C. Mercer.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Lee, Mrs. Louise Deal, Mrs. Blanch King and Mrs. Billie Boyd, all of Waycross, and Mrs. Bonnie Melton, Kingsland, Ga.; four sons, Wilbon Mercer, Mack Huey Mercer, and Dewey Mercer, all of Waycross, and Isbon Mercer of Millwood; five sisters, Mrs. Etta Kight and Mrs. Essie Smith, both of Waycross, Mrs. Evie Crews and Mrs. Eurice Riley, both of Cleveland, Tenn., and two brothers, Hoke Arnold, Argyle, and Jerome Arnold, Callahan, Fla.; twenty-nine grandchildren and thirty-five great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in the Hargraves Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday night from 7 to 9 o'clock.
