Mr. Friloux was born in New Orleans and lived in Columbus. He was a graduate of St. Benedict's College, Atchison, Kan., and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kan. Mr. Friloux was in the Army during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a parishioner of Annunciation Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Friloux was a member of the Retired Officers Association, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans. He earned a Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal with oak leaf cluster and Army Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster.
Survivors include his wife, Rhena Joan Dowty Friloux of Columbus; four sons, David Norman Friloux and Dr. Brian Kent Friloux, both of Tupelo, Miss., Dr. Mark Allen Friloux and Dr. Louis A. Friloux III of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Lisa Friloux of Gulfport, Miss.; a brother, Edward E. Friloux of Carencro; and nine grandchildren.
A Mass will be said Thursday at 2 p.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church, 823 College Street, Columbus. Visitation will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery, Columbus.
