WRECK HURTS PROVE FATAL FOR HERNDON
Herbert Herndon, 46, Mena, Ark., died at 8:30 p.m. Monday at McCurtain Memorial hospital of injuries received Christmas day in a traffic accident near Valliant.
His death pushed McCurtain county's 1957 traffic toll to nine.
Born in Glenwood, Ark., May 7, 1911, he had resided at Mena for the past 12 years, previously being at Smithville. He was a trucker and a member of the Mena Masonic lodge.
He is survived by his widow; one son, Dahl Herndon, Mena; two daughters, Misses Lanetta and Darlene Herndon, both of Mena; one brother, Roy Herndon, Lebannon, Ore., and two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Scott, Ludlow, and Mrs. Charlie Voss, Hot Springs, Ark.
Arrangements are under direction of Geyer funeral home of Mena.
