Born October 5, 1921, in Lewis County, he was the son of Cecil and Goldie Osborne Ervin. He was retired from Portsmouth (Ohio) Casting, a World War II Veteran, and a 40 year member the Bivens Chapel Church in Garrison, where he was a deacon for 35 years.
Surviving are one daughter, Sharon Ervin of Garrison; three sons, Gary (Robin) Ervin and Stephen Ervin, both of Garrison and Larry (Teresa) Ervin of South Shore; Pearl Pence of Mansfield, Minnie Ervin, Edna Jamison and Jean Kimbler, all of Garrison; three brothers, Chester Ervin of Garrison, Jerry Ervin of Crestline, Ohio and Don Ervin of Mansfield, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Burriss Ervin in 1984; two sisters, Lillian Williamson and Judy Ervin and one grandson, Kyle Ervin.
Services will be conducted be conducted Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at Bivens Chapel Church in Garrison. Charlie Riggs, Chris Lawhun and Mark Blankenship officiated with burial in the Waring Cemetery at Garrison.
Military graveside rites were accorded by Monte Lewis Stamm VFW Post 5438.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Morton Funeral Home in South Shore.
