Mrs. Hassie Haynes Mitchell, 74, of 5640 S. Hwy. 58, Nashville, widow of Mr. Tommy Clinton Mitchell passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at the Nash Grove Manor in Nashville. She was born Nov. 27, 1935, in Carroll County, Va., to the late Robert and Ida Haynes. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Douglas and Carolyn Mitchell of Nashville, and Roger Mitchell; two daughters and a son-in-law, Ruby Mitchell of S.C., and Karen Ann and Robert Thompson, Rocky Mount; one grandchild and one great-grandchild and a sister, Lula Goad, Hillsville, Va. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Isreal Gwyn. There will be no formal visitation at the Funeral home and Moody Funeral Service, of Mount Airy is assisting the Mitchell family.Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
