DRURY L. DAVIS DIED IN SEDALIA TUESDAY
Was Assistant Superintendent of Training School For Many Years

Widow, Two Daughters, Two Sisters and Two Brothers Survive Him.

Drury Logan Davis, for a period of 18 years, assistant superintendent of the Missouri Training School For Boys, died at 3:15 o'clock Tuesday morning at the home of his son-in-law, Prof. W. H. Hert, 1001 South Mo. Ave., Sedalia, aged 66 years. Death was due to complications following an illness of 12 days with grip. Mr. Davis was in the best of health a few days ago.

Mr. Davis, accompanied by his wife, went to Sedalia for a visit with their daughter and her family. Mr. Davis was taken ill with grip, which later developed complications causing his death.

He was born near La Plata, Macon Co MO, April 29 1849, and was the son of Rev. and Mrs. O. P. Davis, his father being the first preacher of the Boonville Christian Church. He established a boarding school at Prairie Home when a young man. He was married at that place on August 1 1878 to Miss Florence Franklin. Later removing to Boonville, he was made assistant superintendent at the Training School, and held that place up to 6 years ago, when he engaged in the hardware business at Boonville. He remained in that business 5 years, retiring a year ago.

Mr. Davis had been an elder in the Boonville Christian Church for the last 25 years. Mr. Davis was a member of the Masonic lodge and was also a Knight Templar.

Besides a widow, two daughters survive him. Mrs. W. B. Hert of Sedalia, and Mrs. Edward Elliott of Kansas City. Two sisters and two brothers, Urban Davis of Chicago and Joseph A. Davis of Prairie Home; Mrs Hugh Logan and Mrs. Nannie Logan of Prairie Home.

A short funeral service was held at the Hert home, Wednesday, the Rev. A. W. Kokendoffer, pastor of the First Christian Church, having charge, and the remains accompanied by relatives was brought here, where the funeral was held at 2 o'clock, Thursday afternoon at the Christian Church. The church pastor, the Rev. J. B. Weldon, having charge, and interment in Walnut Grove cemetery.
