AUGUSTA - McKnight, Muril, 83, passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 after a short illness. Closed casket visitation 5-7 p.m. Tuesday and funeral service 10 a.m. Wed. Feb. 17, 2010 all at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Muril was born June 4, 1926 in Ava, Missouri, the son of the late Bethal and Faye (Sawyer) McKnight. He was a retired car dealer having owned a Ford dealership in Augusta. He was also a WWII Army veteran. On July 24, 1947 he married Wanda (Swearengin) in Missouri and she preceded him in death on June 23, 2001. He is survived by a brother, Marvin McKnight and wife Jo Ann of Ashton, Ill; nephew, Mike McKnight of Chicago, Ill; niece, Eris Mouton and husband Rene of Houston; nephews, Floyd Hurst and wife Sue of Rogersville, MO; Barry Hurst of Joplin, MO; and a sister-in-law, Maxine Brixey and husband Elwood of Augusta. Memorials may be made to the Augusta Country Club, 1610 Fairway Dr. Augusta, KS 67010.
