Billie M. Abraham, 71, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2010. Born in San Antonio, Texas, Billie was a daughter of Ferdina and the late William Elliott Billie is a graduate of San Antonio High School, Class of 1956, and then met her husband of 52 years, William Abraham, while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force and stationed in San Antonio. They married on September 12, 1957, and returned to Wilkes-Barre, where they started their family and life together. She was employed by local cigar factories, followed by Boscov's Department Store and, most recently, retired from the Kirby Health Center. She was a member of St. Mary's Antiochian Orthodox Church, Wilkes-Barre. She was loved by everyone that crossed her path and she was well known for her laughter and unwavering, upbeat personality. She danced a little jig daily just to bring a smile to her family's face. Billie brightened everyone's lives that she touched and she will be sorely missed by all. Her family always came first and she was a tireless caregiver to many during her lifetime. Billie was preceded in death by daughter Denise and son Billy Abraham. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, William Abraham; children, Diana Rehrig, David Abraham and Susan Perez; grandchildren, Edward Rehrig, Janelle Fox, Brennan Abraham and Jessica Abraham; sister, Sharon Sewell; and brother, Richard Elliott, both of San Antonio, Texas; as well as many other extended family members. Funeral will be at the convenience of the family from the Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's A.O. Cemetery, Hanover Township. There are no calling hours.
