BENTON, KY - Vernie Asher, 96, died September 23, 2006, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. She was a lifelong homemaker.
Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Leo Asher; two daughters, Muriel (Nelson) Hughes of Marion, and Lana Long, also, of Marion; three sons, Ronnie (Regina) Asher and Donnie Asher, both of Marion, and Brooks Travis of Crete, Ill.; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters; and a grandson. Her parents were Thomas Allen and Elva Brown Travis.
Services were Sept. 26, 2006 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Easley officiating. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
