Funeral services for Mrs. Martha L. Boren who lived north of Briscoe were held in the Baptist Church here Monday afternoon with Rev. Sanford Cole of Canadian and Rev. Gene Hudnall of Wheeler officiating.

Mrs. Boren was born in Mississippi, February 3, 1867 and passed away at Wheeler, August 3, 1952 at the age of 85 years and 6 months. She had resided in this vicinity for the past 44 years.

Surviving children include: Mrs. Hattie Sims and Mrs. Alma Thomas of Idaho; Mrs. Nellie Fulbright of Los Angeles, Calif.; Hiram Boren of Temple; Mrs. Mertie Dixon of Pasadena, Calif.; F.H. Boren of Stephenville; Bruce Boren of Vale, Oregon; and Mrs. J.B. Stout of Gageby. Three sisters survive and they are: Mrs. L.T. Thomas and Mrs. Maude Forbes of Mississippi and Mrs. Lou Kellum of Waco.

Twenty-seven grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren also survive.

Four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Pall bearers were Doyle Standlee, Grady Dodd, Earl Williams, Barney Burgess, Jack Meek and Tom Helton.

Interment was in the Washita Cemetery beside the husband who passed away August 9, 1927. Kirk-Mason Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
