Clair Starr

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the Creswell Pioneer Cemetery for Clair L. Starr of Eugene, who died Feb. 10 of injuries suffered in an automobile accident. He was 76. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.

He was born Feb. 13, 1933, in Salem, to Chancie and Louise O'Neil Starr. He married Kathy Dwyer Bryant April 20, 1990, in Eugene.

He attended Junction City High School, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a logger for Weyerhaeuser, Bohemia and other logging companies for a total of 43 years, retiring in 1992. He then worked as a security guard for 10 years.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Wanda Turpin of Culp Creek and Wendy Muth, Karen Davis and Cindy Thomas, all of Cottage Grove; a son, Randy Starr of California; two stepdaughters, Gail Williams of Gloucester, Va., and Tammy Bryant of Eugene; three sisters, Betty Nelson and Joan Ervin, both of Lebanon, and Aleen Dial of Springfield; a brother, Floyd Starr of Cottage Grove; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
