Mabel E. Wech, 91, Kewaunee, died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010 at the Kewaunee Care Center. She was born on a snowy winter day on Feb. 10, 1918, in Sevastopol, WI to the late John and Emma (Wolfgram) Schroeder.

She was a long time member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crocheting afghans for the family and loved to read. Mabel worked for Leyse Aluminum Co. /General Housewares Corp. for many years until retirement.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Phil and Carol Wech, Algoma and Larry Wech, Kewaunee; one daughter-in-law, Jenny Wech, Portage, WI; nine grandchildren; nineteen grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Aude, Oak Creek, WI. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Joan (Don) Dlugopolski; one son, Richard Wech; one brother, Ray (Ruth) Schroeder; two sisters, Lillian (Floyd) Stack, Irene (John) Wech and one brother-law, Fred Aude.

Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church 710 Dorelle St., Kewaunee until time of services. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Randy Schoemann officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Kewaunee.
