Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel Hawpe Matthews, 80 of Keene, will be conducted Wednesday at 2 in Keene Seventh Day Adventist Church at Keene.

Elder M. D. Lewis of Grand Prairie, will officiate; and burial will be in Keene Cemetery, under direction of Blair-Slubbs Funeral Home.

Mrs. Matthews, born in Mayfield, Kentucky on Oct 1, 1896, was a Seventh Day Adventist and had lived at Keene since 1917. She died Sunday afternoon at 3:10 in Mexia Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are a son, Clifton Cornell Matthews of Cleburne; two daughters, Mrs. Robert E. (Merita) Long of Richardson, and Mrs. Jeannie Pullen of Temple City, Calif.; two brothers, Durward B. Hawpe of Sunray and Driskell Kesterson of Borger; three sisters, Mrs. Leonard (Hazel) Tidwell of Mexia. Miss Datha Hawpe and Miss Dorothy Hawpe, both of Keene; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Tony C. Matthews, Jessie Wayne Moore, Robert E. Long Jr., Richard T. Long. Harold Lindsay, Ed Bierle, Wayne Dake, Glen Wallen, Byron Alexander, Son Stoner and Clarence Dortch.
