Aviation Cadet, 971st Bomb Training Squadron, 321st Bomb Training Group, Deming Army Airfield, New Mexico, World War II.

Student bombardier killed aboard Beech AT-11 Kansan #42-37520 in a mid-air collision with another AT-11, five miles north of the airfield, north of Deming, New Mexico. Five airmen were killed aboard his airplane. Five others were seriously wounded in the crash landing of the other AT-11.

2nd Lt. Clifford H Mahn
Avn. Cadet Macon S Peele
Avn. Cadet Walter B Permenter
