A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2008 at Christ the King Church, Moline. Visitation will be 2-5 pm, Suncay at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st Street A, Moline. Entombment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials can be made to the American Lung Association.
Diane was born July 18, 1939 in Moline, the daughter of Carl Vernon and Mary PLOVIE WASNON. She married Gene G. MOREL on February 24, 1968 in Moline.
Diane was employed at Bituminous Insurance Company for 44 years, retiring in 2001.
Diane was a member of Christ the King Church, Moline and the Bituminous 20 Years Club. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, and a good movie.
Survivors include her husband, Gene; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Angela MOREL of Rock Island; mother, Mary CORNICK of Rock Island; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Nancy SWANSON of Murray, Kentucky and Ronald and Joni SWANSON of Geneseo, Illinois; and sister Vernette SWANSON of Plano, Texas.
