Edna Hodge, 93, of Corsicana passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at Heritage Oaks West. She was born Sept. 9, 1916, in Winkler to Arra Richmond and Guy Hampton Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Hodge; daughter, Leyton Ward; great-great-grandson, Matthew Allen Ward; two brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Nelda Story and husband James of Eureka and Marsha Hayes and husband Sonny of Corsicana; sons, Daryl Hodge and wife Linda of Streetman and Jerry Hodge and wife Sandra of Leakey; grandsons, Eddie Hodge of Angus, Brad Story and fiancée Kathy Chandler of Nacogdoches, David Hodge and wife Heather of Chicago, Ill., Paul Hodge and wife Rebecca of Houston, Danny Hayes and wife Lisa of Kerens, and Michael Ward and wife Chris of San Antonio; granddaughter, Cindy Hyatt and husband Bobby of La Vernia; 12 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Anderson and wife Judy of Malakoff and Max Anderson and wife Pheaby of Costa Mesa, Calif.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend and caregiver, Tina Smith.

She was the most loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her God with all her heart and was truly devoted to her church and family. She had a heart of gold and will be dearly missed and remembered forever.

Her family is most grateful for Tina Smith, her special friend and caregiver, for the past three years.

Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Corley Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Johnson officiating and assisted by the Rev. David Ricker and the Rev. Max Rash. Interment will follow at Eureka Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Ward, Eddie Hodge, Brad Story, Paul Hodge, Danny Hayes and Bobby Hyatt.
