ALICE L. THROCKMORTON

ROGERSVILLE - Alice L. Throckmorton, 90, of Rogersville and formerly of Waynesburg, died Saturday, May 12, 1979, at 11 a.m. in Morton F. Plant Hospital, Clearwater, Fla., after a brief illness.

Born March 6, 1889 in Franklin Township near Waynesburg, she was the daughter of the late Enos and Mary Elizabeth Bennett Crouse.

She lived all her life in the Waynesburg and Rogersville communities and was a member of the Christian Church at Rogersville.

Her husband, Samuel R. Throckmorton, died in 1930.

Surviving are three daughters, Lillian Throckmorton of Clearwater, Fla., with whom she made her home for the past few months, Ruth McDonald of Alexander [sic], Va., and MRs. Donald (Babara Jean) Dean of RD 2, Cheswick; five grandchildren, Mrs. Jacqueline Camp of Walnut Creek, Calif., Mrs. Geraldine Hebert of Walnut Creek, Calif., Mrs. Marjorie Doran of Mt. Lebanon, Sherri Dean of RD 2 Cheswick, and William McDonald of Alexander, Va.; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A grandson, James McDonald, five sisters and five brothers preceded her in death.

THROCKMORTON - Friends of Alice L. Throckmorton, 90, who died Saturday, May 12, 1979, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Mariner and Milliken Funeral Home, Waynesburg. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 1979 at the funeral home with Rev. Kenneth C. Thomas officiating. Burial will be at Rosemont Cemetery in Rogersville.
